Navigating Your Dashboard
When you first log in to Dental Marketing Tool, you land on your dashboard. This article walks you through the main screen, the left-hand navigation menu, and the launchpad so you can find what you need quickly and start getting value from day one.
The Main Dashboard Screen
The dashboard is the first thing you see after signing in. It gives you a snapshot of what is happening in your practice right now: recent conversations that need attention, upcoming appointments, and any tasks that have been assigned to you or your team. Think of it as your morning briefing before the phones start ringing.
At the top of the dashboard you will see summary cards. These show you counts at a glance, such as how many unread messages are waiting, how many appointments are booked today, and any outstanding review requests. Clicking any card takes you directly into the relevant section of the platform.
The Left-Hand Navigation Menu
Everything in Dental Marketing Tool is organized in the left-hand menu. This menu stays visible no matter where you are in the platform so you can jump between sections without backtracking.
Here is what each section covers:
- Dashboard - Your home screen. Click this any time to get back to the summary view.
- Conversations - Your unified inbox for texts, emails, and web chat from patients. This is where the front desk will spend most of their time.
- Contacts - Your full patient list. Search for any patient, view their record, add notes, and manage their information here.
- Calendars - Online booking, appointment management, and scheduling. You can also block time off and set your availability from this section.
- Reputation - Send review requests, monitor what patients are saying on Google and Facebook, and respond to reviews.
- Marketing - Send email and text campaigns, plan social media posts, and reach out to patients who have not been in for a while.
- Launching Ads - Build and launch paid ad campaigns targeting people in your local area who are looking for a dentist.
- AI Agents - Configure your AI receptionist and text agent to handle after-hours calls, answer common questions, and book appointments automatically.
- My Staff - Add team members, set their roles and access levels, and manage staff availability for online booking.
- Settings - Control your practice profile, integrations, billing, and account preferences.
The Launchpad
Inside the dashboard you will see a section called the Launchpad. This is a quick-start checklist that guides you through the most important setup steps for a new account, things like completing your practice profile, connecting your Google Business Profile, and sending your first review request. Each item has a short description and a button that takes you directly to where you need to go.
You do not have to complete the Launchpad in order, but working through it in the first week will make sure your account is set up correctly and nothing falls through the cracks. Once you finish a step, it gets checked off automatically. See the Your First Week Checklist for a more detailed walkthrough of each setup task.
Switching Between Locations (Multi-Location Practices)
If your account covers more than one practice location, you will see a location selector near the top of the left menu. Click it to switch between locations. Each location has its own conversations, contacts, and settings, so make sure you are viewing the right one before taking action.
Finding the Settings You Need
Most global account settings live under the Settings option at the bottom of the left menu. From there you can update your practice profile, manage integrations like your Google calendar or Facebook page, adjust your billing information, and configure your phone number and messaging defaults. If you are looking for something and cannot find it in the main menu, Settings is usually the right place to check.
Next Steps
Now that you know your way around, a good next step is to read A Tour of the Main Menu for a deeper look at each section, or jump straight into Your First Week Checklist to make sure your account is fully set up and ready to start bringing in new patients.
