A Tour of the Main Menu

The left-side menu in Dental Marketing Tool is your command center. This article walks through every section so you always know exactly where to go when you need to get something done.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in. It gives you a snapshot of what is happening right now in your practice: recent conversations, upcoming appointments, and a quick look at how your reputation and ad activity are trending. Think of it as your morning briefing. For a deeper walkthrough, see Navigating Your Dashboard.

Conversations

Click Conversations to open your unified inbox. Every text message, email, Facebook message, and web chat from patients lands here in one place, so the front desk never has to jump between apps. You can reply, assign a thread to a team member, leave an internal note for a colleague, or send a review request, all without leaving this tab.

Tip If your practice misses a call, Dental Marketing Tool can automatically send the caller a text to keep them engaged. Learn how in Missed Call Text-Back.

Contacts

The Contacts section is your patient directory. Every person who has ever reached out, booked an appointment, or been imported from your records shows up here. You can search by name, filter by tag, view a full patient record, and send a message directly from a contact's profile. If you want to organize patients into groups (for example, everyone who has not been in for more than a year), you can build smart lists and bulk-action them from here.

Calendars

The Calendars tab is where online booking lives. You can set up one or more booking calendars, define your available hours, and share a booking link that patients can use to schedule themselves. Appointments booked online show up on this calendar and can sync with Google or Outlook so nothing falls through the cracks. Automated reminders go out to patients before their appointments, reducing no-shows without any manual work from your front desk.

Reputation

The Reputation section connects to your Google and Facebook review profiles. From here you can send review requests to patients after their visits, respond to existing reviews (with AI-drafted responses you can edit before posting), and keep an eye on your overall rating over time. A steady stream of fresh reviews is one of the most effective things a dental practice can do to attract new patients searching online.

Marketing

The Marketing tab is where you send campaigns to your patient list. You can send an email newsletter, a text message blast to re-engage patients who have gone quiet, or schedule social media posts to your Facebook and Instagram pages. All your message templates live here too, so you can build something once and reuse it whenever you need it.

Launching Ads

The Launching Ads section lets you run Facebook and Instagram ads directly from Dental Marketing Tool without needing a separate Ads Manager account. You pick an offer, set a budget, choose the area around your practice you want to reach, and go. When someone responds to an ad, they appear automatically in your Conversations inbox so the front desk can follow up right away.

AI Agents

The AI Agents tab is where you configure the platform's automated-response tools. The text and chat AI agent can answer common patient questions around the clock, and the voice AI receptionist can handle after-hours calls. You train these tools on your own practice information, including your services, hours, and FAQs, so responses feel accurate and on-brand rather than generic.

My Staff

Use My Staff to add or remove team members, assign user roles, and control what each person can see and do inside the platform. For example, you might give a front-desk coordinator access to Conversations and Calendars without giving them access to billing or ad settings. This keeps your account secure and makes it easier to onboard new employees.

Settings and Integrations

At the bottom of the left menu you will find Settings and Integrations. Settings is where you update your practice profile, phone number, and notification preferences. Integrations is where you connect Dental Marketing Tool to Google, Facebook, and other services your practice already uses. If you have not done this yet, it is one of the first things to tackle. Check out Setting Up Your Practice Profile to get your account configured correctly from the start.

Note The menu items you see may vary slightly based on your subscription plan. If a section is grayed out or not visible, it may not be included in your current plan.

Now that you know what every menu item does, a great next step is to work through the Your First Week Checklist, which walks you through the most important things to set up in your first few days on the platform.
