Billing Overview

The Billing section of your Dental Marketing Tool dashboard puts your subscription details, payment method, invoices, and usage charges in one place so you always know where your account stands.

Getting to Your Billing Dashboard

To reach all billing information, click your account name or avatar in the lower-left corner of the dashboard, then select Billing. You can also navigate there from Settings and choose the Billing tab. Everything related to your account charges lives here.

What You Will Find in Billing

The Billing page is organized into a few distinct areas. Here is a quick map of each one:

  • Subscription: Shows your current plan, billing cycle (monthly or annual), and the next renewal date. This is also where you can upgrade, downgrade, or make changes to your plan.
  • Payment Method: Displays the card currently on file. You can update your card here at any time without contacting support.
  • Invoices and Receipts: A history of every charge posted to your account, downloadable as a PDF for your records.
  • Wallet and Usage: Tracks credits used for per-message features like text messages, AI receptionist minutes, and outbound calls. Your wallet balance and recent usage appear here.
Tip Bookmark the Billing page if your front desk handles account renewals. It loads quickly and shows the most relevant information without needing full admin access to the rest of the platform.

Subscription at a Glance

At the top of the Subscription section you will see your plan name and the date your next payment is due. If you have a trial period active, the end date of that trial is shown here as well. To learn more about what each plan includes or to make a change, see Understanding Your Subscription and Upgrading or Changing Your Plan.

Payment Method and Failed Payments

Your card on file is masked for security, showing only the last four digits, card type, and expiration date. To swap in a new card, click Update Payment Method and follow the prompts. If a renewal charge did not go through, a banner will appear at the top of the Billing page with steps to resolve it. For a detailed walkthrough, visit Fixing a Failed or Past-Due Payment.

Heads up If your payment fails and is not resolved within the grace period shown on the notice, some features may be temporarily paused until the balance is cleared.

Invoices and Download Options

Every billing cycle generates an invoice automatically. To find a past invoice:

  1. Open Billing from the account menu.
  2. Scroll to the Invoices section.
  3. Click the download icon next to any invoice to save a PDF copy.

Invoices show the billing period, line items, and the total charged. See Viewing Invoices and Receipts for full details on filtering by date range and sharing copies with your accountant.

Wallet Balance and Per-Use Charges

Certain features are billed based on actual usage rather than a flat monthly fee. Text messages, AI agent minutes, and outbound call minutes draw from your wallet balance. The Wallet section shows your current credit balance and a log of recent deductions so you can see exactly what drove any given charge. For a full explanation of how usage charges work and how to add credits, read Wallet and Usage Charges Explained.

Once you have familiarized yourself with the Billing overview, the most common next steps are updating your payment method or reviewing your invoice history. Both tasks take just a few minutes from the same Billing page.
