Using Ad Templates and Creatives
Dental Marketing Tool includes a library of ready-made ad templates built around the most common dental offers, so you can go from zero to a running ad in minutes by swapping in your practice's photos, headline, and details.
What an Ad Template Includes
Each template in the platform bundles together the creative format, ad copy structure, and audience guidance that work for a specific offer type. When you select a template you are not just picking a visual style. You are starting with a complete setup that has already been structured around how patients respond to dental ads. Templates are organized by offer category, for example new-patient specials, implant promotions, Invisalign offers, and general practice awareness.
- Ad creative: the image or image-plus-text layout that Facebook and Instagram will display
- Headline and body copy: pre-written text you can edit to match your offer wording
- Call-to-action button: set to the most common action for that offer type (such as "Book Appointment")
- Targeting suggestions: a recommended radius and age range for the offer
Browsing and Selecting a Template
- From the left menu, open the Ads section and click Launch Campaign.
- When prompted to choose a starting point, select Use a Template.
- Browse the template library. Use the category filters at the top to narrow by offer type, such as implants, whitening, or new-patient specials.
- Click any template card to see a preview of the creative and the default copy.
- When you find one that fits your offer, click Select Template to load it into the campaign builder.
Customizing the Creative
Once a template is loaded, every element is editable. You are not locked in to the default image or text.
Swapping the Image
- In the Creative step of the campaign builder, click the image thumbnail.
- Choose Upload Photo to use your own practice photography, or select a stock image from the built-in image library.
- Crop and position the image using the on-screen handles so the focal point sits where you want it.
Using a real photo of your office, your team, or a before-and-after (with patient consent) almost always outperforms generic stock imagery. Patients in your area respond better when the ad looks local and authentic.
Editing the Headline and Body Copy
- Click directly into the Headline field and replace the placeholder text with your offer. Keep it short and specific, for example New Patient Exam + X-Rays: $99.
- Edit the Primary Text field (the copy that appears above the image in the Facebook feed) to describe the offer in one or two sentences. Focus on what the patient gets, not on your practice features.
- Confirm the Call-to-Action button label matches what you want the patient to do. Common options are Book Appointment, Learn More, and Get Quote.
Previewing Before You Launch
Use the Ad Preview panel on the right side of the creative editor to see exactly how your ad will appear in the Facebook news feed and on Instagram. Toggle between placements using the tabs at the top of the preview. Check that your image is not cropped awkwardly and that the headline is not truncated before moving to the next step.
Saving a Creative for Reuse
If you build a creative you are happy with, you can save it to your practice library so it does not need to be rebuilt the next time you run a similar campaign.
- After customizing the creative, click Save Creative in the upper-right corner of the editor.
- Give it a descriptive name, such as Implant Special Summer 2026.
- Saved creatives appear under My Creatives when you start a new campaign, alongside the standard template library.
Common Questions
Can I start from scratch instead of using a template?
Yes. In the campaign builder, choose Start from Blank instead of selecting a template. You will still go through the same creative steps, but without any pre-filled copy or images. Most practices find templates faster, especially for the first few campaigns.
What image size should I upload?
For best results across Facebook and Instagram placements, upload a square image at least 1080 x 1080 pixels. The platform will automatically adapt it to other proportions as needed, but starting square keeps you covered for the majority of ad placements.
Can I use a video instead of a photo?
Yes. In the creative editor, click Upload Video and select an MP4 file. Keep videos short, ideally under 30 seconds, and make sure the key message is clear even without sound since many patients watch with audio off.
Once your creative looks the way you want it, the next step is confirming your budget and geographic targeting before the campaign goes live. See Setting Your Ad Budget and Targeting Your Local Area for guidance on those settings.
