Showing Reviews on Your Website

The review widget in Dental Marketing Tool lets you pull your best Google and Facebook reviews directly onto your practice website with a simple copy-paste embed code. No developer required, and the widget updates automatically as new reviews come in.

Why Put Reviews on Your Website

Most patients check your website before they ever call the front desk. Seeing real reviews right there on the page, without having to click away to Google, builds confidence quickly. A live review widget also shows that your ratings are current, not something you collected years ago and froze in a screenshot.

Before You Start

The widget pulls reviews from the sources you have connected to Dental Marketing Tool. If you have not linked your Google Business Profile or Facebook page yet, do that first. See Connecting Google and Facebook Reviews for step-by-step instructions. Once your accounts are connected and reviews are syncing, come back here to set up the widget.

Generating Your Widget Code

  1. Open the Reputation tab in the left-side menu.
  2. Click Widgets near the top of the reputation section.
  3. Click Create New Widget.
  4. Choose a widget layout. The Carousel style cycles through reviews one at a time and works well in a narrow sidebar. The Grid layout displays several reviews side by side and suits a full-width section on your homepage or a dedicated testimonials page.
  5. Set your minimum star rating filter. Most practices set this to 4 stars or higher so only strong reviews appear on the site.
  6. Choose which sources to display: Google, Facebook, or both.
  7. Optionally, pick a color scheme that matches your website. You can set a primary color, background color, and font style.
  8. Click Save Widget. Dental Marketing Tool generates a short embed code snippet.
  9. Click Copy Code to copy the snippet to your clipboard.
Tip Give each widget a clear name when you save it, such as "Homepage Carousel" or "Testimonials Page Grid." If you create more than one widget later, the name helps you find the right embed code quickly.

Adding the Widget to Your Website

Paste the embed code into whatever section of your site you want the reviews to appear. The exact steps depend on your website platform, but the general process is the same everywhere.

WordPress or Page Builder Sites

  1. Open the page you want to edit in your WordPress dashboard or page builder.
  2. Add a new block or element and choose the Custom HTML or Embed Code option (the exact label varies by builder).
  3. Paste your widget code into that block.
  4. Save or publish the page.

Any Other Website

  1. Open the HTML source of the page where you want the reviews.
  2. Paste the embed code in the body of the page, inside the section or div where reviews should appear.
  3. Save and publish.

If your website is managed by an outside web company, just forward them the copied code and tell them where on the page you want it placed. It is a one-minute paste job for any web developer.

Note The widget loads your reviews from Dental Marketing Tool's servers, so the reviews displayed on your site will refresh automatically as new reviews sync in. You do not need to update the embed code every time you get a new review.

Editing or Removing a Widget

To change a widget's style, color, or star filter, go back to Reputation, click Widgets, and open the widget you want to change. Edit the settings and click Save Widget. Because the embed code points to the same widget ID, your website will automatically reflect the updated settings without you needing to paste new code.

To remove a widget entirely, open it in Widgets and click Delete Widget. Once deleted, the embed on your site will stop displaying. Remove the embed code from your website pages afterward to keep things tidy.

Getting More Reviews to Display

The widget is only as powerful as the reviews flowing into it. If you want more recent reviews showing up, the best move is to make sure you are asking patients consistently after every visit. You can send review requests manually from any patient conversation or set them up to go out automatically after appointments. See Sending Review Requests and Automating Review Requests After Visits to build a steady stream of incoming reviews.

Once your widget is live, keep an eye on how your overall rating is trending over time. The Monitoring Your Reputation Score page shows your average rating, total review count, and how responses are going, all in one place.
