Connecting Google and Facebook Reviews
Before you can collect or monitor reviews inside Dental Marketing Tool, you need to connect your Google Business Profile and your Facebook page. This one-time setup pulls your review data into the dashboard so everything is in one place.
Why the Connection Matters
Once your profiles are linked, new reviews from Google and Facebook appear in your Reputation tab automatically. You can read them, respond to them with AI assistance, track your average rating over time, and send review requests, all without logging in to separate apps. If the connection is not set up, none of those features will work.
Connecting Your Google Business Profile
You will need to be signed in to the Google account that manages your practice's Business Profile before starting these steps.
- In your dashboard, open the Integrations tab from the main left-hand menu.
- Find the Google Business Profile card and click Connect.
- A Google sign-in window will appear. Choose the Google account that owns your Business Profile and click Allow to grant access.
- After you approve, return to the dashboard. You will see a list of Business Profile locations tied to that account. Select your practice location and click Save.
- The card will update to show your practice name and a green connected indicator.
Connecting Your Facebook Page
You will need to be an admin of your practice's Facebook page before completing this connection.
- In Integrations, find the Facebook Page card and click Connect.
- A Facebook login window will open. Log in with the personal Facebook account that has admin access to your practice page.
- Review the permissions Dental Marketing Tool is requesting and click Continue as [Your Name], then confirm the page access.
- Back in the dashboard, select your practice's Facebook page from the list and click Save.
Confirming the Connection in the Reputation Tab
Once both profiles are connected, open the Reputation tab. You should see your current star rating, a review count for each platform, and your most recent reviews listed below. If either platform shows no data, go back to Integrations and confirm that both connections show a green status.
It can take a few minutes for existing reviews to sync after you first connect. If the review list is still empty after five minutes, try refreshing your browser.
Keeping Your Connections Active
These integrations use authorization tokens that can expire or be revoked if you change your Google or Facebook password, remove app permissions, or switch to a different account. If reviews stop updating, the most common fix is to reconnect the affected profile.
- Open Integrations and look for a red or yellow status badge on the Google or Facebook card.
- Click Reconnect and follow the same steps you used during the initial setup.
- Once reconnected, your review data will resume syncing automatically.
