Connecting Your Facebook Page
Connecting your practice's Facebook page to Dental Marketing Tool lets you manage messages, read and respond to reviews, and schedule social posts, all from one place without switching between apps.
What Connecting Your Facebook Page Unlocks
Once your Facebook page is linked, Dental Marketing Tool can:
- Pull Facebook messages directly into your unified Conversations inbox
- Surface Facebook reviews so you can respond to them alongside your Google reviews
- Publish and schedule social media posts to your page from the Social Planner
- Support ad campaigns that run through your practice's page
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready before you begin:
- A personal Facebook account that has admin access to your practice's Facebook page. If you are not already an admin, ask the page owner to add you before continuing.
- You are logged into the correct Facebook account in your browser. If you manage multiple Facebook profiles, double-check this before clicking connect.
How to Connect Your Facebook Page
- From your Dental Marketing Tool dashboard, click Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Select Integrations from the settings menu.
- Find the Facebook card and click Connect.
- A Facebook login window will open. Sign in with the personal Facebook account that manages your practice page.
- Facebook will ask you to choose which pages to share. Select your practice's Facebook page and click Continue.
- Review the permissions Facebook requests and click Save (or Got it, depending on how your browser displays the prompt). Grant all permissions Dental Marketing Tool requests. Declining any permission will limit what the platform can do.
- You will be returned to the Integrations screen. Your Facebook page should now appear as Connected.
Granting All Required Permissions
Facebook sometimes shows individual permission toggles during the authorization flow. It is important to leave all of them turned on. Common permissions the platform needs include the ability to read and send messages, manage page posts, and read reviews. If you accidentally turn any off, disconnect and reconnect the page to start fresh.
What to Do If Your Page Does Not Appear
If your practice page does not show up in the Facebook page selector during the connection process, the most common reasons are:
- You are logged into the wrong Facebook account. Log out of Facebook in your browser, log back in with the correct account, and try again.
- Your account is not an admin on the page. Ask the page owner to grant you admin access and then reconnect.
- The page is not yet published. Facebook only shows published pages in the selector.
After Connecting
Give the integration a few minutes to sync. Facebook messages sent to your page will start appearing in your Conversations inbox alongside texts and emails. New reviews left on your Facebook page will appear in the Reputation section, where you can respond to them directly.
If the connection ever shows as disconnected or stops pulling in messages, see Fixing a Disconnected Integration for step-by-step troubleshooting.
Once your Facebook page is connected, a natural next step is to link your ad account so you can launch campaigns directly from the platform. See Connecting Facebook Business and Ad Account to complete that setup. If you also want Google reviews and Gmail synced, head over to Connecting Google (Gmail and Calendar).
