Connecting Facebook Business and Ad Account
This article walks you through connecting your Facebook Business Manager and ad account to Dental Marketing Tool so you can launch patient-attraction campaigns directly from your dashboard, with leads flowing in automatically.
What You Are Connecting and Why
Running ads from Dental Marketing Tool requires two separate Facebook assets: your Business Manager (the account that owns your Facebook Page and ad account) and the ad account itself (where your budget lives and campaigns run). Both need to be linked before you can launch or manage any campaigns from the platform. If you have already connected your Facebook Page, that is a related but separate step covered in Connecting Your Facebook Page.
Before You Start
- You must be an Admin of your Facebook Business Manager. If you only have employee-level access, you will not be able to authorize the connection. Ask your practice owner or whoever set up your Facebook account to complete this step.
- Your ad account must already exist inside Business Manager. If you have never run Facebook ads before, you will need to create an ad account inside Meta Business Suite first, then return here.
- Make sure you are logged into the correct personal Facebook profile, the one that has admin access to the business assets.
Connecting Your Facebook Business Manager
- From your Dental Marketing Tool dashboard, open the left-hand menu and click Settings.
- Under the Integrations section, click Integrations or navigate directly to Integrations Overview.
- Locate the Facebook tile and click Connect.
- A Facebook login window will appear. Sign in with the personal Facebook account that has admin access to your business.
- Facebook will ask you to confirm which Business Manager to authorize. Select the correct one for your practice and click Continue.
- Review the permissions screen. Dental Marketing Tool requests access to manage your pages, ad accounts, and leads. Click Save to grant access.
- After the window closes, you should see your Business Manager name listed as connected in the Integrations screen.
Selecting Your Ad Account
Once your Business Manager is authorized, you need to tell Dental Marketing Tool which specific ad account to use for running campaigns.
- After the Business Manager connects, a dropdown will appear labeled Select Ad Account.
- Choose the ad account associated with your practice from the list. If you see multiple accounts, look for the one named after your practice or the one your team actively uses.
- Click Save or Confirm to finalize the selection.
The platform will verify that your ad account is in good standing. If your ad account has any payment issues or restrictions on the Facebook side, the connection may not complete. Resolve those in Meta Business Suite first, then retry here.
Verifying the Connection
Once both assets are connected, the Facebook integration tile on your Integrations Overview page will show a green connected status for both your Business Manager and your ad account. You can also confirm this is working by navigating to Launching Your First Ad Campaign and checking that your page and ad account appear pre-selected in the campaign builder.
What Happens Next
With your ad account connected, Dental Marketing Tool can publish campaigns directly to Facebook and Instagram, pull in lead form submissions, and display your ad results in your dashboard. Your front desk will see new patient inquiries from your ads appear in the Conversations inbox automatically, no manual checking of Facebook required.
A good next step is to review Launching Your First Ad Campaign to build and publish your first campaign, or check Tracking Leads from Your Ads to understand how new patient inquiries come through once your ads are live.
