Connecting Your Google Business Profile

Connecting your Google Business Profile to Dental Marketing Tool lets you see new reviews the moment they come in and publish posts to your listing directly from your dashboard, without logging into Google separately.

What This Connection Enables

  • Your Google reviews appear inside Dental Marketing Tool so you can read and respond to them from one place.
  • Review requests you send can route patients straight to your Google listing.
  • You can publish Google Business posts (promotions, news, offers) from the Marketing section without leaving the platform.
  • Your overall reputation score inside the Reputation dashboard pulls from live Google rating data.

Before You Start

You will need to be signed in to the Google account that manages your Google Business Profile. If multiple people manage the listing, any verified manager or owner account will work. Make sure your Google Business Profile is already verified with Google before completing these steps. Unverified listings cannot be connected.

Note If you have already connected a Google account for Gmail or Calendar sync, you may still need to complete this step separately. Google Business Profile access uses a different permission scope.

How to Connect Your Google Business Profile

  1. From the left menu, click Settings, then select Integrations.
  2. Locate the Google Business Profile card and click Connect.
  3. A Google sign-in window will open. Sign in with the Google account that manages your business listing.
  4. Review the permissions Dental Marketing Tool is requesting and click Allow. These permissions let the platform read your reviews and publish posts on your behalf.
  5. Google will redirect you back to the platform. You should see your business name appear under the Google Business Profile card, confirming the connection is active.
  6. If your Google account manages more than one business location, a dropdown will appear. Select the correct location for this practice and click Save.
Tip If you manage multiple practice locations under separate accounts in Dental Marketing Tool, repeat this process for each account using the appropriate Google login for that location.

Confirming Your Reviews Are Syncing

After connecting, open the Reputation tab and click Reviews. Your existing Google reviews should begin populating within a few minutes. New reviews posted by patients will appear here automatically going forward. You can reply to any review directly from this screen, and your response will publish to Google in real time.

If you plan to automate review requests after patient visits, see automating review requests for the full setup. You can also send one-off requests right from a patient conversation using the steps in sending a review request from the inbox.

Publishing Posts to Your Google Listing

Once connected, you can schedule or publish Google Business posts from the Marketing section under Social Planner. Select New Post, choose Google Business Profile as the destination, write your update, add an image if needed, and either publish immediately or schedule it for a future date. This is useful for promoting a special offer, announcing updated hours, or sharing a seasonal message without logging into Google.

Troubleshooting a Failed Connection

If the connection does not complete or the integration shows a disconnected status, the most common causes are:

  • The Google account used does not have manager or owner access to the Business Profile.
  • The Business Profile listing is not yet verified with Google.
  • A browser pop-up blocker prevented the Google sign-in window from opening. Try disabling pop-up blocking for the platform and reconnecting.
  • You clicked Cancel instead of Allow on the Google permissions screen. Repeat the steps above and grant the requested permissions.

Next Steps

With your Google Business Profile connected, a good next step is making sure your Facebook presence is linked as well. See connecting your Facebook page to bring both review sources into one dashboard. If you want to start getting more reviews right away, head to sending review requests to reach out to recent patients.
